I feel like things are maybe picking up? Starting to find more energy to make things feel vital again. Like how anymore everything just feels like a drag, like sitting around waiting for something. Is that winter coming, or is it me? Maybe a little bit of both? Is it this city, or is it all three? I’m going to say each factor is precisely one third of the problem, divided so that we are left with two three’s, a decimal point, then three’s forever.

That’s the problem. Three’s should not go on forever.

It’s been over a month. I suck. Yes, I know that.

I’m in Australia for a while if you hadn’t guessed.

I wish I was back in Toronto.
I am homesick for the first time, but not because of the area or the people or the food, as I truly feel that I could live any place I wanted to and not really have a home. I could wander. But I would need to do what I wanted. Have a sense of order, schedule, in that chaos. My life can be chaotic but please let it be without this seemingly bigger power hanging over my head, directing my every move. This is my work, I’m talking about, I can’t even imagine what it would be like if I believed in God.

Dragons feature prominently in Norse mythology. At the ’still point of the turning world’ there stands the ash tree Yggdrasil which supports the whole universe. There are three great roots of the tree, one of which reaches over Niflheim where Hel reigns as Queen of the Underworld. Beneath Niflheim the dragon Nidhogg gnaws at the root seeking to destroy the universe – which is why he’s known as ‘The Dread Biter’.

Midgard’s Worm (a.k.a Jorungard’s Worm) is a threat on a more earthly level. The Worm lies in the seas with its tail in its mouth, encircling the land, creating the oceans. Disaster would befall the world should the Worm’s tail be removed from its mouth. Midgard’s Worm meets its end at Ragnarok when it and Thor kill each other.

Fafnir was once a giant who killed his father in order to take the treasure he owned. To guard the ill-gained hoard he transformed into a dragon and carried it to a remote cave. The dragon is eventually slain by Sigurd.
